AD EXCHANGE
Industry prognosticators predict that 50% of all display advertising will be transacted in a “machine-to-machine” methodology known as Real-Time Bidding (RTB) by 2015.
CONTEXTWEB launched RTB in September 2010 and is interconnected with more than 20 leading partners today.
Because CONTEXTWEB maintains direct relationships with over 10,000 high-quality publishers and an unrelenting focus on providing a clear, unencumbered view into the page where an ad will be placed, CONTEXTWEB delivers “smart impressions” to our partners.
These smart impressions include over 31 attributes - all included in the bid price.
What is a smart impression?
A smart impression is an impression that contains 31 attributes defining:
-
WHO the audience is (IP address; referral URL; re-targeting & behavioral tokens, etc)
-
WHAT type of ad would be most effective (size of ad; publisher blocked creative;
blocked attribute codes; language, etc) -
WHEN the ad would be most effective (user time zone; # of times user appeared
since midnight, etc) -
WHERE the ad would be most effective (400+ content category ID’s; category ID path;
user generated content; URL of page; blocked URL settings; blocked keywords etc) -
HOW to most effectively serve the ad (fold count; User browser type; OS; device type,
etc)
How can CONTEXTWEB deliver smart impressions?
CONTEXTWEB delivers smart impressions due to our direct relationship with more than 10,000 publishers and our unrelenting technical focus on providing a clear, unencumbered view into the page where an ad will be placed.
Many RTB providers lack direct relationships with publishers and are victims of “daisy-chains” which block a clear view at the page level. This limited view into a page inhibits their ability to provide comprehensive attributes defining the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE and HOW of a real time impression. Some will add this “data” – but at an additional cost. CONTEXTWEB delivers “smart impressions” all for the cost of the bid!
